TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Sarah Mooney Personal Chef Catering

1. DEFINITIONS

1.1 “Business” means Sarah Mooney Catering Services (trading name of Sarah Mooney Personal Chef), Email: sauceoflovebysarah@gmail.com1.2 “Client” means the person, firm or company making the booking.1.3 “Event” means the function or occasion detailed in the Quotation.1.4 “Quotation” means the written quote provided by the Business outlining services and pricing.1.5 “Agreement” means these Terms and Conditions together with the accepted Quotation.

2. QUOTATIONS

2.1 Quotations are valid for 60 days unless withdrawn earlier in writing.2.2 All prices are based on estimated guest numbers and requirements.2.3 Any changes requested by the Client may result in a revised Quotation.

3. BOOKING & CONFIRMATION

3.1 A booking is confirmed only when:the Client has accepted the Quotation in writing; and the required deposit has been received.3.2 The Business reserves the right to decline bookings at its discretion prior to confirmation.

4. DEPOSIT & PAYMENTS

4.1 A non-refundable deposit of £500 or 50% of the total (whichever is greater) is required to secure the booking.4.2 The remaining balance must be paid no later than 14 days before the Event.4.3 Bookings made within 30 days of the Event require full payment upfront.4.4 Failure to make payments on time may result in cancellation of the booking and loss of any payments made.

5. PRICING & VAT

5.1 The Business is not currently VAT registered.5.2 If VAT registration becomes applicable, VAT will be charged at the prevailing rate and the Client will be notified in advance.

6. GUEST NUMBERS & CHANGES

6.1 All prices are based on agreed guest numbers.6.2 Final guest numbers and dietary requirements must be confirmed no later than 30 days before the Event.6.3 Increases in guest numbers may be accommodated where possible and will be charged accordingly.6.4 Reductions in guest numbers after final confirmation will not result in a refund, as costs will already have been incurred.

7. CANCELLATIONS

7.1 All cancellations must be made in writing.7.2 The deposit is non-refundable.7.3 Additional cancellation charges reflect costs incurred and loss of business, as follows:More than 30 days before Event: deposit retained only14–30 days before Event: up to 50% of total fee payableLess than 14 days before Event: up to 100% of total fee payable7.4 The Business will take reasonable steps to mitigate losses where possible.

8. FOOD & DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

8.1 Menus are bespoke and agreed in advance with the Client.8.2 The Client must provide all dietary and allergy information before final confirmation.8.3 The Business will take reasonable care to accommodate dietary requirements but cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.8.4 The Business shall not be liable for issues arising where dietary information has not been provided accurately or in time.

9. FOOD SAFETY

9.1 Responsibility for food safety passes to the Client once food has been delivered or service is complete.9.2 The Business recommends that perishable food is consumed within 2 hours if left at ambient temperature.9.3 The Business is not responsible for food stored, handled, or consumed outside its control.

10. CLIENT-SUPPLIED FOOD

10.1 The Business accepts no responsibility for food supplied by the Client or third parties.10.2 The Business may request evidence of food safety compliance and insurance where applicable.

11. EQUIPMENT & BREAKAGES

11.1 Any equipment hired remains the property of the Business.11.2 The Client is responsible for loss or damage (beyond reasonable wear and tear) from delivery until collection.11.3 Reasonable charges will be applied for breakages or missing items.

12. STAFFING

12.1 Staff are provided according to the agreed schedule in the Quotation.12.2 Additional hours requested by the Client will be charged at an agreed hourly rate.12.3 Where events run beyond 11:30pm, reasonable transport costs for staff may be charged.

13. PHOTOGRAPHY & MARKETING

13.1 The Business may take photographs of catering setups for promotional use.13.2 The Client may opt out by providing written notice prior to the Event.

14. LIABILITY

14.1 Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.14.2 The Business is responsible for providing services with reasonable care and skill as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.14.3 The Business shall not be liable for:losses not reasonably foreseeable losses caused by the Client’s actions or third parties business losses where the Client is acting as a consumer14.4 The Business’s total liability shall not exceed the total value of the booking, except where legally prohibited.

15. CLIENT PROPERTY

15.1 The Business accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to Client property unless caused by negligence.

16. DATA PROTECTION

16.1 The Business processes personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR.16.2 Personal data is used only for booking administration and service delivery.16.3 Full details are available in the Business’s Privacy Policy.

17. FORCE MAJEURE

17.1 The Business shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:extreme weatherillnesssupplier failurevenue issuesgovernment restrictions17.2 In such cases, the Business will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or reduce impact.

18. COMPLAINTS

18.1 Any issues should be raised during the Event where possible.18.2 Formal complaints must be submitted in writing within 48 hours of the Event.

19. ALCOHOL & LICENSING

19.1 Where alcohol is supplied, the Client must ensure appropriate licences are in place where required.19.2 The Business reserves the right to refuse alcohol service where necessary.

20. DELIVERY & LOGISTICS

20.1 Delivery and collection charges apply and will be specified in the Quotation.20.2 Additional charges may apply for late-night or weekend services.

21. GOVERNING LAW

21.1 This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.21.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
